Historic Dinner at the Magic Meadows Yurt

Tues, Jan 31st

5pm – 8pm

Join us for an evening out at the Magic Meadows Yurt for a historic dinner catered by Crested Butte Personal Chefs.  Ski or snowshoe out to the yurt, where you’ll be welcomed by a fire, food, a selection of tasty drinks, and our curator, Ashley O’Hara with a history talk.

Enjoy a delicious meal with beer, wine, cocktails, or mocktails, learn about the history of Crested Butte and The Gunnison Valley (specific topic still to be determined), and ski or snowshoe back to the trailhead under the stars and the beautiful moonlit mountains surrounding our valley.

Historic Pub Crawl

Thurs, Feb 16th

Elk Ave Walking Tours

Wednesdays in March

2pm-3:30pm

Crested Butte became a registered National Historic District in 1974 to preserve our distinctive buildings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Join us on an Elk Avenue Walking Tour to learn about the history of the buildings, mining history, and stories from the community, as well as some of the alleyways and little known facts about the historic buildings.

These walking tours are regularly held on Wednesdays in March at 2pm with Glo Cunningham, or you can choose to schedule a private walking tour by emailing [email protected]

    Member & Volunteer Events

    Member Night at the Museum

Our members get insider access to the collections, curator’s work, and progress of the museum during our member nights.  Currently, on pause we’re planning to thank our members for their support in the near future when gatherings are happening again.

    Docent Field Trips

One of the absolute best things about being a docent!  We plan an annual outing to a nearby museum or historic site with the docents, connect with each other and regional history!

    Annual Volunteer Party

Our volunteers are crucial to the success of the museum, and we couldn’t make as much progress without them!  Volunteers enjoy an annual party to celebrate the successes and progress made over the past year.
