Friday 22nd – Melting Pot Book Club

History takes on a new flavor in May for Preservation Month!  Join us for a fun, memory-filled evening celebrating  The Crested Butte Melting Pot Cookbook by Myrtle and Michele Veltri . Bring your favorite  (or most vintage) dish from the cookbook to share and enjoy with lively conversation in this relaxed potluck-style book club with friends old and new. Open to the public, book is available for purchase in the Museum Store

Tuesday 26- From the Archives: The Valley’s Early Days – Lecture and Slideshow with Duane Vandenbusche

Celebrate Preservation Month with a free public talk about the nineteenth-century “early days” of the Gunnison Country with photographs from the personal collection of esteemed historian Dr. Duane Vandenbusche.  The presentation begins at 6pm and will be available to Members at the Supporter Level or in the Pot Belly Stove Club.

Thursday 28- Historic Preservation Month

Join the Crested Butte Museum and Hartman Castle Preservation for a celebration of our local historic places and their continued preservation!  Learn about the effort to save the Hartman Castle in Gunnison, Colorado and the amazing history of Alonzo and Annie Hartman, pioneers of the Gunnison Valley.  Snacks and refreshments will be served at this FREE community event!
