The Crested Butte Memorial Day Parade has been a community staple for well over 100 years. It is a chance for us to come together and remember those who gave their lives defending our freedoms and those who gave their lives to this valley. Families with deep roots in Crested Butte travel from across the country to clean the graves of their relatives in the cemetery, remember their ancestors, and see the faces of friends old and new.
The parade itself starts at 2nd and Elk Ave at the Old Town Hall, proceeds down Elk Ave to the 4-Way Stop, turns North on 6th St and proceeds to the Crested Butte Cemetery. At the cemetery there is a service at the chapel that lasts about an hour and 20 minutes. After the service participants march back to the Old Town Hall.
