Join us for local history and adventure at the Magic Meadows Yurt!
At the Crested Butte Museum we partner with other local non-profits to host history events at the Crested Butte Nordic Magic Meadows Yurt. From free talks on the deck to multi-course dinners with full presentations, we offer an array of experiences. Unless otherwise specified, all of these events require a Crested Butte Nordic Pass and nordic skis or snowshoes (which can be rented from the Nordic Center).

History Talk at the Nordic Yurt Bistro
Sunday January 26th, 2024

Join our Curator on the Magic Meadows Yurt deck for a FREE history discussion. No payment is necessary to attend this talk but a Crested Butte Nordic Pass IS required. This talk will occur during the Nordic Bistro’s normally scheduled hours and they will have food and beverage items available for purchase.
Full Moon History Yurt Dinner
Thursday Feb 13th, 2025
6:00pm-9:00pm
Join us for an evening at the Magic Meadows Yurt for dinner and an exclusive history presentation . Cross country ski or snowshoe to the yurt under the stars and a full moon, where you’ll be greeted with a beverage and appetizers upon arriving, and enjoy a 3-course dinner with an option to add wine pairings in the warm, cozy yurt.
The meal will be prepared by Chef Matt Santor of Crested Butte Catering
Meal & Wine Pairing: $175 per person
Meal Only: $150 per person
Museum Members will receive a gift bag upon arrival at the Yurt.
History Lunch at the Magic Meadows Yurt
Thursday March 20th, 2025
11:30am – 1:00pm
Join the Museum for a delicious lunch with a side of history at the Magic Meadows Yurt. This is a ticketed event that includes a light lunch for all participants. We will meet at the trailhead for a guided group tour out to the Yurt for a delicious lunch and enjoyable history talk. A nordic pass and gear will be required for this event.
Tickets for this event will go on sale in January of 2025.
