Mountain Man, Olympic athlete, and Vietnam veteran Donald “Tuck” Tucker came to Crested Butte in 1971. For Tuck, Crested Butte saved his “a**” and in return, this community fell in love with his over the top personality. In 2003, Tuck was approached by Andrew and Paul Hooge for a photoshoot that would become the Tuck Naked poster. Their first attempts took place in April above the old T-Bar hill with Tuck in his well-worn telemark gear. After these photos did not turn out the way they hoped, Andrew called on photographer Tim Stillo. A rowdy photoshoot at Stillo’s studio turned out the picture they needed.
Also available for purchase is Andrew Hooge’s “Fit Skiing” book and poster featuring photos by Tom Stillo.
