Mountain Biking Interpretive History Tour: Lower Loop

June 16 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

$50.00 – $65.00

Join us for these new interpretive history tours as we explore surrounding natural areas around Crested Butte and The Gunnison Valley.  These tours will explore the history of the area that we’re riding, history of the trails, and of mountain biking in the valley.  We’ll also be briefly discussing The Buffalo Soldiers, a famous black biking group from Montana in the late 1890’s, as a kickoff to Juneteenth weekend.  We will also be donating a portion of our proceeds to Melanin Mountain Project, a local organization whose mission is to implement grassroots structure and action within the Gunnison Valley of inclusion and equity through existing systems, community traditions, entertainment and outdoor spaces for people of color.

You must provide your own mountain bike, helmet, water, snacks, and appropriate outerwear for this tour.  We will plan to ride the Lower Loop, which is an easy rated trail, although the trail choice is subject to change depending on current trail conditions.  You should have basic mountain biking experience and skills to participate in this tour, as we will not be teaching the basics, however we are always willing to provide some riding instruction and feedback for basic skills tuning.
