Join Colorado State Historian Dr. Duane Vandenbusche and the Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum for a 12-part online series about the history of Crested Butte. This series is held every Thursday at 7 pm beginning January 28th through April 15th. Sessions cover the exciting history of the Elk Mountains, Crested Butte, water, gold mining, the age of immigration, early days of skiing, narrow-gauge railroads, great nearby silver camps, coal mining, ranching, and polka music. The event is free but donations are appreciated and will go towards paying the costs associated with hosting this webinar series and to our general operating fund.

Want to learn more about the history of our wonderful Town and Valley? Join us for a historic walking tour! Tours meet at 3pm in the garden next to the Museum at 4th and Elk Avenue. Tours cost $20 (members) and $25 (non-members) and last 1.5hrs to 2hrs. All proceeds support the Museum's general operating fund.
Day of the tour:
Come to the Museum 15 minutes prior to the start time of your tour and wait in the garden directly west of our building. Signs will be in place to direct you. If you have not pre-registered, check with the cashier and/or tour guide to see if we have space. You will be permitted to join and pay the day of the tour unless we have already reached our maximum tour size.
We highly recommend registering and paying now to ensure your spot is saved! This is especially important with group size regulations changing often due to COVID-19.
Private tours may also be scheduled for groups of three or more by calling the Museum at 970-349-1880.
